MFG DAY
MFG Dayaddresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry. Rockford Robotics Team
Rockford Robotics Team 2039 is a FIRST robotics team for high school students of the Rockford, IL community. They represent a uniquely diverse collaboration. The team is open to any students in Rockford and the surrounding areas, and is comprised of students from public, private, and home schools. This gives them the advantage of wider student diversity as well as distinctive organizational challenges. Superior Joining Technologies is proud to support the Rockford Robotics Team 2039.
Flaming Monkey Robotics Team
The Flaming Monkey Robotics Team (Team 3352) first started out as the Boone County 4-H Tech Team two years ago. The team built, programmed Lego NXT Robots and attended two week-long camps. In an effort to provide new and exciting opportunities to the team and local high school youth, our team chose to become a FIRST Robotics Team. Superior Joining Technologies is proud to support the Flaming Monkeys Robotics Team 3352.

Northern Illinois University Supermileage Team
What is Supermileage®? The Supermileage® competition provides engineering and technology students with a challenging design project that involves the development and construction of a single-person, fuel-efficient vehicle. Vehicles are powered by a small four-cycle engine. The vehicles will run a specified course with the vehicle obtaining the highest combined kilometers per liter (miles per gallon) rating plus design segment points winning the event. Students have the opportunity to set a world fuel economy record and increase public awareness of fuel economy. Engines are donated by Briggs & Stratton.
Women in Manufacturing
Women in Manufacturing began in November 2009 with a small group of Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) members who gathered at the FABTECH tradeshow in Chicago to discuss best practices, business conditions and unique challenges and needs as minorities in the field. This intimate group subsequently met in 2010 and 2011 before broadening its scope to network with women in all areas and industries within manufacturing, offering year-round networking opportunities, mentoring programs, quarterly e-newsletters and an online directory.
