In 2011, Superior Joining Technologies purchased a new Vision Micro Laser Welding System.

The new Flexx Workstation is the gold standard of laser welding machines and features an open architecture design allowing for larger work pieces (220 lbs.), a high wattage (120W Avg / 10kW Max) laser to weld thicker materials, and has an integrated motion control system producing more consistent results.

Also, by adding a second micro laser welding system, we at SJTI have created a redundancy in our micro laser welding capabilities which offers a more stable supply base to our customers.

Laser welding employs a precisely focused beam of light to fuse metals together. A wide variety of materials including copper, steel, stainless steel, brass, silver, gold and platinum can be joined by the energy produced by the Laser process. Among the most notable advantages of Laser joining are the low input of heat and the ability to join intricate and even microscopic assemblies.
